Ship design
You will be guaranteed a consultant with experience in the planning and design of practically every vessel type – be that new construction or conversion. The projects span right from the ideas generation to the final hand-over documentation. Our ship design comprises e.g. double hull bulk carriers, gas tankers, multi-purpose cargo ships, offshore supply vessels and ferries.

A Grontmij ship design provides you with a solution including every necessary ship-technical aspect such as general ship design, structural calculations and design, stability and similar safety aspects, hull and propulsion optimisation as well as engine aspects. All will be in compliance with both national and international (IMO) regulations as well as the requirements of the classification societies.

Professional staff
Grontmij in Denmark are ISO 9001 certified and approved for carrying out stability calculations, lightweight surveys and inclining experiments. As a natural element, we further provide services within areas such as inspection, acoustics, noise and vibrations, feasibility studies and environment.

Our staff is comprised of naval and mechanical engineers, marine superintendents and draughtspersons. We apply tools such as AutoCAD, NAPA, FluidFlow, COSMOS (FEM system), DNV Nauticus, Hydrostatic, CFD analysis, etc.
